about

70s Psychedelic Jazz Rock

The "Other Brothers" - a band from the 90s - revel with pleasure in the music of the 70s:
psychedelic sound collages are interwoven with jazz, rock and noise elements. All pieces are original compositions or improvisations of the four musicians, who join each other with open ears and a great desire for groove, variety and experiments. In addition to groovy funk rock pieces with wide suspense arcs and rich dynamics, they also produce pretty crazy pieces like "Strange Age" or „Ich bin krank“ - or then the piece "Reich und Berühmt“ (to listen to!), a kind of Swabian Funk-Rap, although one does not know exactly how seriously or ironically the text is to be understood.
The keyboard player Niggi Tamm delivers a wonderfully playful and varied soundscape with his DX-7 synth sound. Multi-instrumentalist Tassilo Dellers increases in jazzy-poetic or erupting sax and flute cascades and does not shrink back from shamelessly long, marvelously overflowing and distorted guitar solos, which unfortunately not many guitarists allow themselves these days. In between, he enriches the music with surprising and atmospheric soundscapes, such as voice and noise samples.
Christian Fürst on electric bass and Matthias Pulver on drums finally accompany the whole thing with a rich, partially very funky rhythm. A "must-have" for all 70s fans! (OR 2002)
